A wildlife photographer's dream...

Hit the trails...

We have such a variety of wildlife here that even the most amateur photographer will come home with great shots. With such an abundance of natural landscape, the wildlife is not hard to find surrounding our private bed and breakfast in Troy, Montana. Ease down a trail and keep and eye open for sign (tracks) and scat (poop) and you are sure to come across a good opportunity.

We stock local books that you are welcome to use during your stay at our private bed and breakfast - including interesting plant books, hiking guides, and local lore.

Best lakes to paddleboard? We have you covered! Grab your gear and head up to Alvoord or Kilbrennan Lake and you'll likely be the only people there! Or head down to Bull Lake and paddle to your hearts' content across its huge glassy surface. Don't forget to stop off at the Halfway House Bar and Grill for a snack!

Want to trail ride? Let us connect you with a local ranch! If you are a hunter or angler, we are also happy to help connect you to local resources to plan that portion of your trip. If you have elk fever, we know just the guide to help you bring home a big bull.

Drive up into the Yaak about 20 miles and experience an inland Northwest rainforest terrain. This gorgeous area is remote and cell phone signal free. Stop off at the Yaak Mercantile and stay for a burger. (Don't forget to take a selfie in front of the Dirty Shame Saloon).

Chainsaw Carving Competition

If you've heard of axe throwing and knife sculpting, but have you haven't experienced the Chainsaw Carving Competition? Just outside our riverfront bed and breakfast in Troy, Montana this event takes place and attracts people from all over the nation. Be sure to check out event dates by clicking the link below today and ask us about lunch to go so you leave nourished!
